Bansko is probably the most famous Bulgarian ski destination. Standing next to the jaw-dropping beauty of Pirin Mountains, it is a great place to visit even in summer. On an invitation of Green Wood Hotel & SPA, several other bloggers and I spent a weekend there trying its services.
The All-Inclusive Services of Green Wood Hotel & SPA
The hotel is just around 6 km (3,5 mi) north-east of Bansko and around 300 m north of Pirin Golf. We were kindly greeted by a very friendly person at the reception who diligently explained their all-inclusive services.
They go as follows:
- Breakfast: 08:00 – 10:00
- Brunch: 11:00 – 12:00
- Lunch: 12:00 – 14:00
- Late brunch: 15:00 – 17:00
- Dinner: 18:00 – 21:00
- From 11:00 to 23:00, all kinds of Bulgarian spirits and draught beer are available. This includes soft drinks, coffee, and tea. Bear in mind that neither the Lobby Bar nor the Night Bar is included in the all-inclusive package.
Although the food came in abundance and some of the meals were tasty, in general, I was not very satisfied with the open-bar. What I found really delicious, nevertheless, were the draught beer (prepared with spring water), the different kinds of bread (they even had einkorn bread), the good variety of seasonal fruits, and the honey in wax (I am a sucker for good honey and that was simply scrumptious).
The SPA & Wellness facilities of Green Wood offer a great variety of different massages, as well as steam bath, sauna, and fitness. Oh, I almost forgot – Ice Bucket Challenge, anyone?
The hotel also has a small, but cosy, outdoor pool situated in a beautiful garden which offers an amazing view of the Pirin Mountains in its vicinity. Take a look.
Rooms and Other Amenities
The room I stayed in was very spacious and had amenities, such as stoves and microwave, which are always handy.
Green Wood is a good place for families with children since it has a great game room, table tennis room, and offers bicycles which can be used to explore the beauties of the region (all these come at reasonable prices of around 5-10 BGN or $3-6 per hour).
Green Wood Hotel & SPA is a four-star hotel and I would say the money-quality ratio is good. For reservations, you can visit the website of the hotel.
